Born from the association of two enthusiast mechanics, OPTIMEX Company was created in 1998, and is now specialized in the design and manufacture of industrial centrifugal pump, as well as the testing and after-sales service of sealless pump API 685 and ISO 15783 canned motor pumps.

Referring to this ethic, our team works hard to answer its customers’ requirements, and thus provide French quality sealless pumps, manufactured and tested according to our own standards, while offering:

Thanks to our “design” and “research and development” offices, and to our 2000m2 workshop, we manufacture internally the activities belonging to our know-how as a canned motor pump manufacturer, such as:
- Project analysis, case studies, machine designs
- Encapsulation and winding of the stator and the rotor, welding of the sealing elements
- Balancing of the rotating parts and Hydrodynamic balancing system
- Assemblage of terminal boxes and Watertight electricity feed

History
HISTORY OF THE SEALLESS CENTRIFUGAL PUMP COMPANY
OPTIMEX is a company with majority French capital, specializing in the qualification, design and manufacture of sealless pumps, as well as the testing and after-sales service of canned motor pumps.
Founded in 1998 by 2 enthusiastic and experienced mechanics in this field, the company started by developing pumps for the chemical and the oil & gas industries. Then since 2002, OPTIMEX started in the nuclear industry, and achieved remarkable projects.
Manufacturing and design take place on our site near Lyon, France. We have complete traceability of the components going into our machines.
Through external growth, OPTIMEX acquired a mechanical workshop in 2018 near OPTIMEX, guaranteeing an internal knowledge of machining work.
Over the years, OPTIMEX has positioned itself with its customers as a provider of tailor-made qualified solutions, manufactured in limited series (sometimes single pieces).
Our flexibility allows us to respond to specific requirements, to design very innovative and unique pumps.

1998
OPTIMEX is born! Creation by Mr Dury, Mr de Mourgues and a third minority shareholder, Moret, a French manufacturer of mechanical seal pumps for the chemical industry.
1999
CHEMICAL MARKET :
ADF qualification obtained for our OPTIMEX
“M Range” motors.
2001
Development of our MULTI Pumps range
(Gl).
2004
Thanks to its economical development, OPTIMEX moves to bigger premises in Fleurieux-sur l’Arbresle:
– 500m² workshop/storage area,
– 300m² of office space,
on 6500m² of land.
2003
OIL & GAS MARKET :
Development of specific pumps for the oil & gas industry.
ISO 9001 certification.
2002
NUCLEAR MARKET :
First delivery of OPTIMEX canned motor pumps, in accordance with the RCCM requirements, for the RES Pool project.
2010
One of the founding shareholders, Mr Dury, retires.
Mr de Mourgues became the majority shareholder and continued to grow steadily, alongside the
historic partner Moret, now the Ensival-Moret Group.
2011
OPTIMEX expands its premises:
– 1000m² workshop
– 500m² offices
New Motor range named range “P”
2012
OPTIMEX installs a powerfull ERP, in order to ensure an effective organization between the members of the company.
2017
OPTIMEX got a new test bed with higher capacity and able to deliver better tolerances on results.
2016
OPTIMEX changed its management organizisation in order to pilot important project in good conditions.
2015
OPTIMEX expands its premises: 2000m² workshop.
2018
Optimex acquires the company STAN Mécanique in order to reinforced its machining expertise and to maintain its responsiveness in after-sales service.
2019
Mr de Mourgues transfers a part of his shares to Mr Spruytte to ensure the continuity of a family business with a French majority capital.
2020
Creation of a nuclear division pole to engage a specialized project team with a strong kowledge and awared of the challenges of this market.
2023
Awards Ceremony for the construction of two EPRs in the UK. OPTIMEX wins first prize in the “Excellence in Quality” category.
ISO 19443 certification.
2022
Mr de Mourgues and Mr Spruytte are carrying out a new capital operation in line with the transfer plan initiated in 2019.
2021
OPTIMEX takes over the 20% stake held by Ensival-Moret, which has since been acquired by Sulzer.
