In order to continue supplying value-added canned motor pumps, OPTIMEX proposes to “retrofit” existing pumps.
A RETROFIT consists in reusing the hydraulic parts of an existing pump and adapting the canned motor pump technology by eliminating the dynamic sealing system.
This technique becomes interesting when the costs of replacing the hydraulic parts and the costs of possible pipe modifications are of high economic value.
At the end of its life, it can be of an advantage to “retrofit” a pump rather than replace it with a new one. Moreover, by “retrofitting” a mechanical seal pump into a canned motor pump, the pump becomes more reliable, the number of shut downs for maintenance operations are reduced.
In the past years, OPTIMEX has successfully completed numerous RETROFITs. To do so, a customized design work is carried out. The hydraulic parts of each RETROFIT are studied and if necessary modified in order to adapt the axial thrust balancing system.
OPTIMEX thus gives these products a new look and increases their reliability while reducing maintenance costs. The feedback from these RETORIFITS is very satisfactory and OPTIMEX ensures the follow-up of these pumps, and guarantees a serious after-sales service like for new pumps, including the supply of spare parts.
