Supercritical Liquids

MANUFACTURER OF CENTRIFUGAL FLUID COMPRESSOR

In some industrial processes, it is necessary to convey gas or liquids in supercritical phase. In these cases, the fluid requires special pumping constraints.

PUMPING RESTRICTIONS:

Liquids in supercritical phase or gas cannot be pumped by classical liquid centrifugation. On a classical canned motor pump, the important quantity of gas deactivates the centrifugal impeller and thus the motor circulation. As a consequence, the hydrodynamic bearings often break.

OPTIMEX SOLUTIONS:

OPTIMEX has developed a specific solution varying from its standard construction to answer to this type of application. In particular, OPTIMEX uses self-lubricated ball bearings instead of slide bearings lubricated by the pumped liquid .

Examples of gas or supercritical liquids:

  • Carbone Dioxyde (CO2)
  • Sulfur Hexafluorure (SF6)
